Perletta is a Dutch brand that has been producing handwoven rugs in Morocco for over thirty years. Every piece is made to your exact dimensions. There are no stock sizes and no standard formats. The weavers in Morocco produce each rug to the width and length you specify, in the colour you select, in the construction you choose. For the kind of British interior where standard sizing never quite works, this is a significant advantage.

The material is 100% New Zealand wool: long-staple, lanolin-rich and naturally resistant to staining without any surface treatment. The dyeing process produces consistent colour across more than forty colourways, from undyed natural tones through to deep navies, warm terracottas and muted olive greens. The wool surface reads differently depending on the light in the room, which in British interiors, where the quality of natural light shifts significantly by season, hour and aspect, makes a meaningful visual difference throughout the year.

The Collections: From Fine to Textural

Perletta organises its range around weave structure. The fine and accessible constructions start with Bellamy, a loop weave with a soft, warm feel and the entry point into the collection. Finesse uses two finer yarns woven simultaneously to produce a subtle, gently undulating surface: restrained and elegant, well suited to rooms that want craft without assertion. Neon takes the same compact weave and adds a black thread through the wool, creating a graphic detail visible in angled light. Limone has a compact, smooth surface available in 36 colourways; Limone Mix allows two colours from the palette to be combined for a custom tonal blend.

Perletta for Period Properties

For period properties, large-format handwoven wool in a considered neutral reads naturally alongside original architectural features: timber floors, cornicing and sash windows. Bellamy or Salsa in stone, slate or warm grey sit under period furniture without competing with the room's existing character. Perletta's colour precision means the same stone tone in different constructions reads consistently, which matters when matching to existing upholstery or flooring. For coastal properties, the pebble and driftwood tones in the Pebbles collection reference the exterior landscape in a way that makes the interior feel continuous rather than disconnected from its setting.

Perletta for Contemporary British Spaces

For converted warehouses, new builds or open-plan apartments, the more textural constructions make stronger choices. Gravel has a chunky, granular surface that reads well beside exposed brick, polished concrete or dark-stained timber. Knot has an irregular, hand-tied relief that changes completely depending on the angle of the light. Boulder uses a rounded, pebble-like weave in New Zealand wool with optional linen, producing a full, organic volume. These are pieces that command the room rather than recede into it.

Custom Size and Sample Service

The made-to-measure capability means width up to 400 cm and length without restriction. Round, oval and custom-shaped formats are available on request. For rooms with alcoves, bay windows or unusual proportions, this removes the compromise that standard sizing always requires. A sample service is available: physical samples can be ordered to assess colour accuracy and texture in your own light before committing to a bespoke piece. Lead time is approximately four to six weeks from order confirmation.

Care

Lightly mist the rug with water quarterly. Blot spills immediately with a damp cloth, then apply sparkling water and blot again. Do not use household detergents and do not dry clean. Vacuum using suction only, without a rotating beater bar. A rug underlay is recommended under all Perletta constructions.

Free delivery across the United Kingdom. As every Perletta rug is produced to your exact specification, made-to-measure pieces cannot be returned. The sample service exists precisely for this reason: order samples, live with them in your space, and commit only when the colour and construction are confirmed.
