The reverse of a genuinely hand-knotted rug tells you everything a photograph cannot: dense, even rows of knotwork built up over months by Afghan weavers working in a tradition that stretches back generations. Every knot tied individually, by hand, in wool. The fringes growing naturally from the warp threads rather than being stitched on afterwards. These are not details that add to the experience of living with the rug. They are the experience, made visible.
The front is rather good too. A soft grey ground carries a richly detailed medallion pattern surrounded by botanical motifs in deep red, ochre, coral, green and blue — a composition that has the depth and vitality that tufted and machine-woven pieces simply cannot produce, because the process that creates them does not allow for it. Hand-knotting builds colour and pattern into the structure of the rug itself. The difference is felt before it is understood.
Shall Grey belongs in a room with natural materials, marble, characterful wood and furniture that has developed its own patina. A living room that is calm without being plain. The kind of space that accumulates quality rather than purchases it all at once.

Delivery times vary by stock location and are shown on each product page. Rugs in stock at our showroom ship within 3 working days; items coming from external warehouses or production require additional processing time.
For deliveries outside the EU, local customs duties or import taxes may apply depending on your country’s regulations.
Returns
You have 30 days to return your rug from our standard collection, provided it is unused, undamaged, and returned in its original packaging.
