Griff means scratch, and that is exactly what the surface does. No pattern, no motif, just a scored texture that catches the light differently depending on where you stand. It is the Louis de Poortere design for a room that already has enough going on.

Seventeen designs, rectangular and round

Soho Copper, Columbus Gold, Liberty Gold and Copperfield for warmth. Jersey Stone, Metro and Concrete Jungle for grey. Bronx Azurite and Central Green for colour. Nine come as rectangles and eight as rounds, so the same surface works in either shape.

Recycled PET, washable, suitable outdoors

Woven from recycled PET, which does three useful things at once. It keeps bottles out of landfill, it makes the rug washable, and it makes it fit for outdoor use. A terrace, a veranda, a kitchen, a hallway with a dog going through it twice a day.

Thin where it is rectangular, deeper where it is round

All 17 are made in Belgium on jacquard looms. The rectangles run 0.3 to 0.5 cm, thin enough to sit flat under a door and let dining chairs slide. The rounds are 0.7 cm. Every one works over underfloor heating, and all are anti-allergic and anti-static.

Sizes and how to choose

Rectangles in 80 by 150, 140 by 200, 170 by 240, 200 by 280, 240 by 340 and 280 by 390 cm. Rounds in Ø 140, Ø 240 and Ø 290 cm. A round rug wants a round or square room, or a seating group arranged in a circle. Ø 240 is the one that works under most coffee tables with sofas around them. For a rectangular living room, 200 by 280 cm.
