Big, overlapping circles in petrol, ocean blue and navy float across an ivory ground on Acsento Bubbles Blue, and wherever two shapes meet the colour deepens, like layers of ink on a linocut. Fine hatched lines run through each form, giving the rug the slightly imperfect charm of a hand pulled print.
This is a rug to build a room around. In a Georgian drawing room with shutters and white walls, or on polished concrete in a kitchen extension, give it a pale sofa and simple furniture and let it lead. Blue and ivory feel fresh by day and calm by lamplight. Sizes run from 170 x 230 cm, ideal for a snug, to 200 x 300 cm, which suits a three seater flanked by chairs, and 240 x 340 cm when six people sit round the table.
Acrylic, polyester and cotton are combined on a Belgian machine loom to make Bubbles, with an 8 mm low pile on a non slip latex back, and is fine to use over underfloor heating. Vacuum it often, and soak up spills immediately with a dry, absorbent cloth.
