A dark green study, a mansion block flat with high ceilings, a bedroom with heavy curtains: these are the places for Acsento Bubbles Burgundy. Deep wine and aubergine shapes overlap on ivory, gathering into their darkest tones where they meet, and a small patch of lilac lightens the mood just when it needs it.
Grey plaster, dark wood and brass all suit it, and in an otherwise white, minimal room it gives the eye an immediate focus. Round pouffes and a low curved table pick up the soft geometry of the pattern. For a three seater with chairs choose 200 x 300 cm, for a generous open plan seating area 240 x 340 cm, and for a bedroom 170 x 230 cm.
Bubbles Burgundy is machine woven in Belgium from acrylic, polyester and cotton, its pile a low 8 mm and its latex underside keeping the rug in position. Underfloor heating suits it. Darker shades reveal dust a bit sooner, so give it more frequent vacuuming, and dab spills dry at once.
