Like a cutting through layers of earth, Acsento Delos Rust moves from dark chocolate through burnt sienna to a soft terracotta. The three tones interlock as separate fields, divided by ridges of wool standing proud of the pile, which adds depth and a pleasingly handmade edge.
It brings warmth to rooms that lack it. Picture a loft conversion with big windows, polished concrete and a grey three seater: the rust tones come alive there. A camel wool throw and a low oak coffee table complete the look. In a sitting room take 200 x 290 cm, in a bedroom 160 x 230 cm, and under a table for six 240 x 340 cm.
Delos is tufted by hand in India from wool, with a pile of about 18 mm on a cotton backing, and it works with underfloor heating. Each handmade rug can vary a little in size and shade. During the first weeks the new wool sheds some fluff, which gentle vacuuming without a rotating brush soon clears. If anything spills, soak it up with a clean cloth and never scrub.
