Ochre, rust and warm taupe, cut into rounded and angular shapes and fitted together on a cream ground like a collage pinned to a studio wall. On Acsento Duna Multi the colour also shifts along the length, golden towards the ends and a touch greyer through the centre.
These are the colours of a sunbaked courtyard: clay, plaster and bleached timber. In a white painted loft or a new build with little character of its own, the rug brings all the warmth the room needs. Add a curved bouclé armchair, a ceramic table lamp and, if you are lucky enough to have one, an arched alcove. Sizes run from 160 x 230 cm, right for a snug, through 200 x 290 cm, which holds a three seater, to 240 x 340 cm for a dining area seating six.
Machine woven in Belgium from polyester, Duna has a soft 11 mm pile with a light lustre. Its latex backing resists slipping, and it is compatible with underfloor heating. Frequent vacuuming keeps the edges of the shapes crisp. If something spills, dab it up rather than scrubbing.
