Scrolling vines, flowers and a border of rosettes: the drawing of Heritage Bronze comes straight from classic Persian carpets. The palette does not. Acsento softens it to bronze, taupe and ivory and lets it fade in patches, so the rug looks as though it has spent decades in front of someone's fire.
That lived in look works both ways. In a Victorian terrace with cornicing and a marble fireplace, it feels as if it came with the house. In a new build, it supplies the sense of history that fresh furniture cannot. Mid century teak, olive and mustard cushions and a touch of brass suit it well. A sofa and two chairs sit comfortably on 200 x 300 cm. Under a table for six, look at 240 x 340 cm. For the bedroom, 160 x 230 cm is ample.
Heritage is finely machine woven in Belgium from 88% recycled polyester and 12% polyester, with a short 6 mm pile that keeps every detail of the pattern sharp. The anti slip latex backing and low profile make it easy to place under a dining table and chairs, and it is suitable for underfloor heating. A gentle vacuum is all it asks, plus quick blotting with a dry cloth if anything is spilled.
