From across the room Acsento Laguna Beige reads as a single soft, pale tone. Kneel down and it turns out to be thousands of tiny flecks of greige and ivory, each a little different, merging like morning mist over a lake. It is pattern at its most discreet.
Bright rooms suit it best. In a kitchen extension with roof lights, under a cream sofa, it bounces daylight back towards the ceiling. It is just as happy in a bedroom with pale linen and a rattan chair. Beside a bed the 170 x 230 cm sits neatly. For a three seater plus armchairs choose 200 x 300 cm, and the 240 x 340 cm covers a larger seating area.
Laguna is a flat weave from Belgium, made by machine. It blends acrylic, polyester, viscose and cotton into a pile of around 4 mm, and a non slip latex backing. It lies very low and suits underfloor heating well. Use the vacuum with its brush roll switched off, and press a dry cloth onto spills right away.
