If your sitting room needs a dose of sunshine between October and March, Acsento Laguna Melon is a cheerful prescription. Loose, cloudlike patches of saffron and ripe melon spread over a warm caramel ground, brightest where the light lands and softer in the shadows.
With sand, oatmeal and raw plaster around it, this orange becomes the single note that wakes the room up. Try it in a garden flat with a curved bouclé sofa and a low wooden coffee table. A three seater with armchairs fits on 200 x 300 cm, an open plan living area welcomes the 240 x 340 cm, and a bedroom or snug the 170 x 230 cm.
Its great virtue is how flat it lies: about 4 mm. Belgian machine weaving turns acrylic, polyester, viscose and cotton into this low surface, and a latex back keeps it from moving. It can be laid over underfloor heating. Little and often is the rule with the vacuum, and spills lift best if you blot them with a dry cloth the second they happen.
