Deep chocolate at the edges fades to a pale champagne glow in the middle of Acsento Moonshadow Chocolate, carried by thousands of fine horizontal lines and crossed now and then by a thin, darker vein. The effect is something like the last light over a ploughed field, quiet but never dull.
A rug this deep wants confident, simple furniture: a low leather sofa, a chunky timber coffee table, not much else. On pale limed floorboards the contrast is dramatic, while on dark parquet in a period townhouse the edges melt away and only the glowing centre shows. Two armchairs and a sofa want the 200 x 300 cm. A big living room can take 240 x 340 cm, a bedroom 170 x 230 cm.
Moonshadow is machine woven in Belgium from a blend of wool, cotton, polyester and acrylic, 11 mm deep, on a latex backing that stops it slipping. It is suitable for underfloor heating. Run the vacuum along the direction of the weave without a beater brush, and deal with spills at once by pressing a dry cloth onto them.
