Deep brown, almost charcoal, scattered with rows of sand and gold flecks. Papyrus Brown from Acsento is a dark rug that still sparkles, the marks catching the lamplight like a city skyline seen from a train after dark.
Dark rugs make a room feel held. Put this one beneath a cream or stone sofa for maximum contrast, or go all in with a snug painted in deep green or ink blue, where it deepens the feeling of being wrapped up. Natural oak, linen and a little brass pick up the golden marks. For a three seater and armchairs choose 200 x 290 cm. Bedrooms get on well with 160 x 230 cm, dining tables with 240 x 330 cm.
Made by machine in Belgium from heatset polypropylene, Papyrus has a dense 11 mm pile that is soft to the touch and easy to live with. You can lay it over underfloor heating. Dust shows sooner on a dark ground, so run the vacuum over it a little more often, and press spills dry without rubbing.
