Three greens share the floor in Decor Miller Summer. Sage lays the foundation, a brighter moss claims a big curved field to one side, and a dark forest shade sweeps in from the opposite edge. Beneath them sit a cream form and a broad strip of dove grey, punctuated by a small near black oval. Not one edge is straight. The outline bulges and narrows like a pebble from a riverbed, and the wool feels plush and even underfoot.

Green underfoot draws the garden indoors, so place it in a sitting room with French windows or a garden room full of daylight. Pale ash or oak, rattan, linen at the windows and potted plants all suit it, while the grey and cream fields bridge to stone tiles or concrete. Its free shape needs no alignment: slide one edge beneath an armchair and leave most of it on show. A sofa plus chair calls for 200 x 280 cm, a smaller room for 160 x 230 cm.

Hand tufting in India turns 100% pure new wool into the 17 mm cut pile of Miller Summer, finished underneath with cotton and latex. Its organic outline is measured where it runs longest and widest. It is suitable for underfloor heating. Handmade pieces naturally vary a little in size and colour. New wool always loosens a few fibres to begin with. Regular vacuuming with a plain head, without a revolving brush, is all the attention it needs.
