Caramel and old gold make up the ground of Harlequin Hollow Tan, a warm tan that seems to hold on to the last of the afternoon sun. Across it runs one ivory line, looping and folding back on itself without a break, and because that line is cut in a different texture from the soft pile around it, you can follow the pattern with bare feet.
Tan this rich wants simple company. In a 1930s semi with a bay window, set it on pale oak with a mushroom linen sofa, a rush seated chair and a single dark stoneware pot, and the room needs little else. A snug, or the space under a double bed, is the job for 170 x 240 cm, 250 x 350 cm when a whole seating group should stand on it, and the 70 x 245 or 80 x 300 cm runner to carry the same glow along an Edwardian hallway.
Hollow Tan is made by hand tufting pure new wool in India, to a pile of 17 mm, and finished with a cotton and latex backing. It may be laid over underfloor heating. Some loose fibre comes away in the first weeks, as with any new wool, and steady vacuuming on plain suction clears it. Press a dry cloth onto a spill straight away and resist the urge to scrub. Being handmade, each piece may be a shade lighter or a centimetre shorter than the next.

You have 30 days to return your rug from our standard collection, provided it is unused, undamaged, and returned in its original packaging.
