Warm camel beige, the honest colour of undyed fleece, gives Earth Natural Light Beige a quiet confidence. The short, dense pile is softly mottled where lighter and darker fibres mix, and that gentle variation is what makes a plain rug feel alive.
It works in a cottage sitting room with beams and a woodburner, beside a sofa in oatmeal linen and a wicker log basket, or in a Georgian first floor flat, its tall windows framed by stone coloured shutters. A sofa flanked by two chairs wants 200 x 300 cm, a cottage sized room 170 x 240 cm, while larger spaces call for 250 x 350 cm or even 300 x 400 cm. The Ø 300 cm round suits a circular seating area.
Massimo Copenhagen, based in Denmark, has this rug handwoven in India, in 100% natural New Zealand wool that has never seen a dye bath. It is suitable for underfloor heating too. Handmade rugs always show small variations in size and colour. Don't be alarmed by a bit of fluff early on, as new wool needs time to settle, and keep vacuuming without a rotating brush. Spills are best dealt with by blotting immediately, not scrubbing.
