Is it grey, is it brown? Muscat refuses to choose, and that is its charm. This Escape Kelim from Massimo Copenhagen keeps the warm greyish brown of the wool exactly as it grew, flat woven without pile, with a contrasting band across both short ends and no fringes to fuss over. Close up, the weave has a slightly grainy, lively texture.
It is a colour for richer rooms: a 1930s semi with a brick fireplace, a dining room painted deep green, or a study with walnut shelves and a worn leather chair. A kilim this flat lets chairs slide in and out under a table with ease. Lay 250 x 350 cm under a sofa and armchairs for room to spare, and the 90 x 250 cm runner repeats the same warm note up a narrow hall.
Escape Kelim is woven by hand in India, using 100% undyed natural New Zealand wool in the flatweave kelim technique. With no pile to speak of, it is well suited to underfloor heating. Expect slight differences in measurements and tone, the mark of a hand loom. New wool sheds a little at first and settles once you vacuum regularly, using a setting without a rotating brush. If something spills, blot it with a dry cloth rather than scrubbing.

Delivery times vary by stock location and are shown on each product page. Rugs in stock at our showroom ship within 3 working days; items coming from external warehouses or production require additional processing time.
For deliveries outside the EU, local customs duties or import taxes may apply depending on your country’s regulations.
Returns
You have 30 days to return your rug from our standard collection, provided it is unused, undamaged, and returned in its original packaging.
