Morning light turns it almost silver, evening light makes it soft as pewter. Karma Light Grey has the washed, vintage look of a rug left in the sun for years: the grey drifts unevenly between paler and deeper zones, and a gentle lustre moves across the surface. Under bare feet it feels cool, smooth and wonderfully supple.
Keep it for the calmer rooms of the house. In the bedroom of a mansion block flat, with white bedding, a pale oak bed and a bouclé chair, it adds a quiet shimmer. In a sitting room it tempers concrete, steel and other industrial touches. A 160 x 230 cm rug fits beside a double bed, 200 x 300 or 250 x 350 cm sits under a sofa group, or the round Ø 300 cm to soften a room full of straight lines.
Massimo Copenhagen has Karma handwoven in India from pure bamboo silk, 100%, and underfloor heating poses no problem. As each piece is made by hand, small variations in size and tone are to be expected. Bamboo silk dislikes water, so blot any spill dry at once and leave deeper cleaning to a professional. For everyday care, vacuum gently without a brush.
