Forest green is the ground here, as deep and still as woodland in August. Morris & Co Walthamstow Forest Teal sets coral red honeysuckle, little daisies and curling acanthus in teal and old gold on a forest green ground, finished by a slim ivory chequerboard border.
Between two armchairs by a sash window, with heavy curtains and oak furniture, it makes a corner into the best seat in the house. The wide side panels give it the bearing of a classic carpet, which helps in the long through rooms of a Victorian terrace. Pick 200 x 280 cm for the main seating area, 170 x 240 cm in a snug, or 250 x 350 cm to seat six for Sunday lunch.
Walthamstow is a hand tufted rug made in India. Pure new wool forms its 17 mm pile, which muffles footsteps and feels warm underfoot, and the backing is cotton and latex. It is compatible with underfloor heating. Handwork means the colour can shift a little between pieces. While the wool beds in, vacuum a little more often, always without the brush head, and treat spills with a dry cloth, pressing rather than wiping.

You have 30 days to return your rug from our standard collection, provided it is unused, undamaged, and returned in its original packaging.
