Ink, denim and slate blue layered with soft sage, then sprinkled with ochre the way lichen spreads across a harbour wall. Torino 063.0934.5241 looks like a watercolour from across the room. Close to, lines cut into the pile outline each colour field, and a gentle sheen makes the blues lighter or darker depending on your angle.
A blue this varied loves natural materials. Lay it on whitewashed or pale oak boards next to a sand coloured sofa and let the ochre pick up a brass lamp or mustard cushions, or pair it with dark wood and tan leather to make the blue feel richer. It suits a Georgian drawing room as well as a study under the eaves. Take 200 x 290 cm for the sitting room, 120 x 170 cm in front of a reading chair.
Tapison Home Torino is machine woven polyester with a low, dense 11 mm pile and its edge is finished in dark blue. It will not fade quickly and is suitable for underfloor heating. Upkeep is light: vacuum often, soak up anything spilt with a damp cloth before it settles, and rotate it from season to season.
