For people who always end up choosing neutrals, here is a gentle way out. Torino 063.0934.5626 floats soft pink, ochre and lilac over a ground of sage green and greyish blue, adding a handful of charcoal shadows and tiny sparks of coral. It is colourful, but in a powdery, misty way, like a herbaceous border at dawn.
Next to a stone or dove grey settee it introduces colour without raising its voice, and it hands you a whole palette for cushions, throws or a print. Every patch of colour is outlined by a carved groove, so low light shows it in relief. Rectangles from 120 x 170 to 240 x 330 cm suit a sofa or table, rounds from Ø 160 to Ø 240 cm a reading corner in a bay window, and the pebble shapes soften a boxy room.
Whichever shape you pick, the edges are neatly finished, and the 11 mm polyester pile is woven by machine for Tapison Home. Underfloor heating is no obstacle and the colours stay bright. Keep it vacuumed, blot any spill straight off with a cloth that is only slightly damp, and turn it now and then.
