Rust against stormy blue is the tension that drives Torino 063.0934.7270. Warm terracotta and gold meet cool grey blue and deep brown, like oxidised iron in October light, and lines cut into the low pile separate each field so you can feel the layers with your fingertips.
It likes a room with character. Exposed brick in a converted warehouse flat, a tan leather sofa, walnut and black steel all bring out the rust, while a navy or grey sofa answers the cooler side. In an otherwise neutral room, give it the role of the painting and keep the walls quiet. The round sizes from Ø 160 cm suit a corner or round table, and the pebble shape plays up the stony look of the design.
Tapison Home offers Torino as a machine made polyester rug with an 11 mm pile, and it copes happily with underfloor heating. Its colours resist fading. A weekly vacuum is the main job, and spills come out best when lifted with a damp cloth and gentle dabbing. Spin it round every few months for even wear.
