Slice through a piece of agate and you get something close to Torino 063.0990.4299. Soft ivory lines meander over a ground of grey green and sea green with a touch of petrol, curling into rings here and trailing away there. The background is streaked as though brushed by hand, and a few ochre flecks warm the cool palette.
Pattern with a sense of flow leads the eye through a room without cluttering it. Try it with a pale linen sofa, blond oak and matt black lamps, or wherever green or blue already appears: a velvet armchair, a painted wall in a 1930s semi, a few cushions. The flat, short pile lets chairs slide easily, so 240 x 330 cm under a dining table is as sensible a choice as 200 x 290 cm for the sofa area.
Its 11 mm polyester pile is machine woven, chosen by Tapison Home, and fine on underfloor heating. The colour stays true. It needs little attention: vacuum regularly, tackle spills immediately by blotting with a damp cloth, and reverse its direction occasionally.
