Want a pale floor without the anxiety of plain cream? Torino 063.0990.6797 winds broad bands of ivory across a ground of pale grey with a warm cast, the tone coming and going like a wash of watercolour. The ivory is woven a touch fuller than the ground, giving the pattern a faint relief, and the movement hides the small marks of daily life.
Everything here is gentle and low contrast, so it brings light and calm wherever it lies. Under an off white or greige sofa it makes a seating area feel larger, and in a bedroom of bleached wood, linen bedding and dove grey walls it has the hush of a beach after the tide. Picture it on the parquet of a mansion block flat with tall windows. For a king size bed, 200 x 290 cm leaves a generous margin either side.
This Tapison Home Torino is machine woven in polyester with an 11 mm pile, a material that stays colourfast and cleans up without fuss. It is fine over underfloor heating. Vacuum it as part of the weekly routine, and when something lands on it, blot with a damp cloth rather than rubbing. A turn every season or so keeps the wear balanced.
