Honey, caramel and ochre, swept through with ivory lines like the figure in polished elm. Torino 063.0990.7299 warms a room the moment it goes down. In the darker bands, gold and toffee mingle with a few threads of soft grey, so the overall effect is mellow and slightly bleached by the sun, never brash.
Chilly north facing sitting rooms and high ceilinged Victorian parlours are where it earns its place. Put it on pale boards beside a rattan chair and a bouclé sofa in cream for a relaxed, sunny look, or beside a chocolate leather club chair and an iron floor lamp, where it takes the edge off. Terracotta, olive and off white are its best friends. A 200 x 290 cm rug suits most sofas, and 160 x 230 cm a study.
Torino is woven by machine from colourfast polyester, chosen by Tapison Home for everyday living, with a short 11 mm pile that has a silky touch. It is suitable for underfloor heating. Vacuuming once a week usually does the job, spills should be dabbed rather than rubbed with a damp cloth, and a half turn every few months keeps it even.
