If you have bought a Morris & Co rug, a Sanderson rug, or an Orla Kiely rug, there is a reasonable chance it was made by Brink & Campman. The Dutch manufacturer, founded in 1897 in Lichtenvoorde, is the production partner behind several of Britain's most established rug collections. It designs and produces to its own standards, with each brand's own studio providing the visual identity. This is not a licensing arrangement with a distant factory: Brink & Campman is an active design collaborator and quality guarantor for every collection it makes.

The British Collections

The Morris & Co rugs in our collection are hand-tufted in New Zealand wool, with the same pile weight and backing specification as Brink & Campman's own range. William Morris's botanical and medieval references translate into contemporary rug form with a fidelity that only a manufacturer of this experience can manage. Sanderson brings its botanical archive to the same production standard: the Poppies, Ishi and Amanpuri collections retain their print identity in pile form without losing resolution or depth of colour. Harlequin, Orla Kiely, Laura Ashley and Florence Broadhurst complete the British licensed range, each produced to the same specification.

The Brink & Campman Own Collections

The Brink & Campman own collections are what you choose when you want the craft without the heritage brand. Decor is the most compositionally considered: abstract forms, measured colour transitions, a painterly quality in the pile surface. In a living room with a strong existing palette, Decor is the rug that carries the composition without competing with it. Pop Art is its opposite: bold curves, saturated contrast, visual weight. It suits rooms with the confidence to let the floor speak first. Rocks is high-pile and deeply textural: a wool construction that absorbs sound and adds warmth underfoot, particularly useful in a bedroom or a room with hard surfaces and high ceilings. The Element series takes its references from the history of abstract sculpture and translates them into wool pile. Estella combines wool and viscose in specific pattern areas for a surface where matte and sheen sit within the same weave.

The Flatweave Collections

The flatweave collections offer a different register. Marble and Cobble use thick, felted wool yarn in robust woven structures: flat, tactile, light-responsive without visual noise. In a period property with original timber boards, they sit well because they add weight and texture without drawing the eye away from the architecture. Dots brings graphic precision to a woven construction. Kashba references the kilim tradition directly, with vivid colour and geometric pattern for rooms that want that visual energy without the Eastern provenance.

New Zealand Wool and Sustainability

All wool collections use New Zealand Responsible Wool Standard-certified yarn: long-staple, naturally lanolin-rich, with mechanical resilience under furniture load that synthetic and short-staple alternatives cannot match. The outdoor collections, including Festival, La Vida and Lace, are produced from recycled PET yarn. Brink & Campman holds SMETA certification for social and environmental compliance across its supply chain.
